LAZY SUNDAY MORNINGS

We've been getting freakishly great weather over here in Vancouver. Usually at this time of the year we are still getting windstorms or dumps of snow but hey, that's what living in Vancouver is like.. the weather changes every 5 mins. This entire week has been super busy just running around gathering supplies for my shop and going to the post office. I think I'm going to start taking weekends off I deserve to relax a little but the problem is I can never seem to sit still. I keep wanting to work on my shop or make charms or draw or something.. How do you do it?

Okay... I give up on the avatar of the day and I switched back to the bread cuz we lost all the view counts in our shops.. But yesterday's year of the rat avatar only got 16 views :0 shocking!

HOLY SMOKES!

Being on the front page is like winning the lottery! Well the hearts and views lottery haha Anyways, I am totally exhausted from making this gigantic batch of bunny, chicken, birdie and piggy charms... not to mention 2 batches of the original bread buddy charms and 1 batch of the burnt bread buddies. It took me like a week to do all of them. *sighs* it was a total nightmare because I had to double sand them to get all the fingerprints off!! but they are finished now and should be posted in my shop soon :D

NEW AVATAR

So, I'm sure many of you have seen it already but I switched my avatar last night. It seems that everyone recognizes me for my bread buddy avatar and they all miss it already haha RELAX it's only temporary! Everyone is always talking about how a photo of your product in the avatar really helps advertise your shop. Well, ever since I've been on etsy I've never used anything other than my bread buddy logo as an avatar. I thought that this week I'd switch up my avatar everyday and put this theory to the test. I'll let you know if any of the items sell.

Have you discovered it yet? This handy tool tells you how many page views you have. If you open it at the beginning of the day and leave the window open then click on the compare button later in the day it shows you how many views you got during the time that window was open. I think I'm going to start monitoring the average number of views I get per day and which days of the week are higher so I can figure out when to list and stuff. Very cool! Check it out for yourself! 5 TIPS ON HOW TO HAVE A SALE!

In the beginning of February Kieutiepie and I had huge sales in our shops. I believe both of us were pretty successful too! Anyways, I know that kieutiepie had compiled a list of how to have a sale and I want to share with you her tips along with mine.

1. Change your avatar so that it has the word "sale" in it. Then post in the forums A LOT in different sections so everyone can see your avatar!
2. Change your prices! Kieutiepie added in the description the original price of the item and I didn't. I don't think it makes a big difference but up to you. I think it's also a good idea to write "sale" in the item's title if not all your items are on sale.
3. Create a banner for your shop advertising your sale and post it on your blog, indiepublic, facebook, we love etsy and wherever else that allows!
4. Don't forget to write about the details of your sale in your shop announcements!
5. There's also a tagline under your banner that you can change and it will change the title of your browser's status bar. I changed mine to "huge sale!" I think sometime's it's a bit more eye catching than the shop announcements.
