Spoonflower Fabrics

For the longest time I have been dying to design some custom fabric and have it printed but with all the work that went into holiday prep I never really found the time. So, now that the holidays are over and the rush has died down for the most part I squeezed in some time to make some color swatches and a tiled pattern. I ordered one yard of fabric and I put all of my color swatches on one side, tiled the birds on the other side and made some fabric labels along the bottom edge. I hope the colors turn out well! I'm so excited to receive the package! Here's a preview of my design. What to make with it?

Lookie what I got!

New fabric :D I picked these up yesterday at my new favorite fabric store! They carry all my favorite designer fabrics like Amy Butler and Alexandre Henry.
I had an appointment today so I quickly swung by Granville Island to pick up some stuff from Opus. I wish I had more time but there was traffic and when I got there I only had about 30 mins or I'd be late for my appointment. Here's some drive by shots.
The entrance to Granville Island.Side view of the kids market. Every child's dream! The entire building sells toys and games. Front of the kids market. There's also a place shown in the photo there that sells pet treats called Woofles & Meowz.Awesome signage.
The purpose of the trip!

I wish I had more time. I would have taken shots of the bakery, chocolatas, the market. Maybe next time!

Come join me on ArtFire.com!

ArtFire - Buy Handmade - Sell Handmade

After a lot of consideration in the past weeks about the responsibilities of adding another selling venue to my growing list I have decided to join ArtFire.com

I wanted to invite you to check out this great new selling venue introduced to me by AlwaysAmy. I signed up last night and am very pleased! This venue would make a great addition to your Etsy shops. You can sell handmade, vintage and supplies.

Great features I have noticed right off the bat:
- They advertise all over the web I've seen their ads on indie sites and blogs and Amy told me they bought the back page of Craft magazine for the next 2 years!
- They have multiple image uploading!!!!!
- Their listing page is all on ONE page! Never have to click 5 times to get to the last page again!
- While your images are loading you can work on your descriptions.
- You can shop in any currency you want by just clicking on the price and changing it from a drop down list.
- In the sidebar there are stats and calculations telling you how much your sales total for the month is!
- It costs only $7 a month for life! No extra listing or transaction fees!
- The site is fairly new and they are taking suggestions from the members which is great.

Plus, if you sign up right now and get 10 people to join at the $7/month rate you will get to use their service free for life! Such a crazy deal. This site looks so promising so get in on it before the offer expires! I'd appreciate it if you put me down as the referer if you do decide to sign up :) I hope to see you on ArtFire soon!

Shop update!

I get so tied up making sure my other blog is updated everyday that I tend to ignore this one. I've been pretty tired lately so I've been taking it easy for the last week and so I now have finally finished photographing and editing my new dangle earrings. They're still not the greatest photos they could be but they will do the job for now. I want to get them in the shop asap. I also have a few polymer clay phone straps featuring some apples and sushi charms I made from left over stock a while ago. They should be in the store the next few days.
