I love when photo shoots go well.

Have I ever shown you my light box? I made it with a tutorial I found on Flickr and I love it but it's a pain in the ass to set up because it's huge! and I didn't want to cut holes in the side of the box for the clamp lights so as you can see I have a mug and my ott lite holding the lamps up.
Anyways, the other really annoying thing about this light box is that every time I set it up I have to take a few test shots to make sure everything is right. Annoying but it's better than taking 200 photos and realizing they are all too dark! So, when it uploads on my computer it looks like this it's kind of dull and lifeless right?


Well, I do a bit of tweaking in Photoshop and it makes the colors pop a little better like below.


Since I finally got around to taking photos there will be new stuff in the shop soon!

Is sore and achy all over..

Can I get a vacation? I don't know exactly but my knees and ankles are inflamed and they hurt like hell.

A few months ago someone offered to help me create my website and now it's been over a month since I last heard from him. So basically, I got tired of waiting and I decided to do it myself. I actually thought it would be impossible for me to make my own site from scratch if I knew it was possible I never would have asked for help in the first place. I finally got around to listing

and re-listing all the stuff I have in stock that is lying around in boxes! I am also discontinuing all of my hair pins and I have put them on clearance at $5 a pair! You better get them before they're all gone cuz I sold 12 pairs while I was sleeping last night haha

My swatches have arrived!

When I opened the package I was squeeling with joy but upon closer inspection I have to say I was a little bit disappointed. The colors are alright for the most part some are a bit brighter than I expected them to be but that's fixable. The main reason for my discontent is that there was horizontal banding on the solid parts. I haven't heard of any complaints about this from anyone so I'm not sure if it's common or not. Anyways, I'm still waiting to hear back from Spoonflower. Here's some pics. Sorry I have bad lighting.

I printed a whole bunch of my characters to check the colorshorizontal banding issues. sighs... maybe I'm better off just screen printing.

Anyways, I made a new shop banner. Thoughts? The dandelion is from a sketch I did months ago. Finally put to good use!

Guess how long

it took me to draw these flowers! lol the drawing was easy.. the shading not so much. I'm new at Illustrator and this was my first time using the gradient mesh tool. What do you think? Not bad for a first try?

It's a new year so let's make some goals!

Goals for January:
1. Turn some sketches into vectors.
2. Make sure I actually do the things on my "to-do" list
3. Spend less time on the computer and more time creating!
4. Get ready for tax season. (Ughhh...)
5. Spend time loading up my Art Fire Shop
