I'm so excited to finally be able to share the new site with all of you! Just in time for our 3rd birthday :D I've put in a brand spanking new shopping cart with some wonderful new features! The cart now has the ability to accept discount codes so my very first order of business today is to give you all a discount code ;) Use the code "tinyfig3" between now and Sept 1st to get 15% off your order before shipping!

Website Re-Launch

I'm re-launching my website in the middle of August. AGAIN?! yes, again! I know I re-did the site earlier this year but I'm still not quite satisfied with the way it is. The new shopping cart is going to be really clean, functional and more visually appealing. Plus, I will be able to offer better shipping rates, coupon codes and gift certificates (which I am unable to do on the current cart)! YAY! more savings for you!

Why am I telling you this now? Well, I'd really love to build a bigger fan photo section so I'm offering 20% off coupon codes (1 per person) to anyone who submits a fan photo between now and August 15th. The coupon will be vaild as soon as I launch the new site. So, whip out your camera for me and snap a few photos! Visit the current fan photo page for inspiration! Email all photos to thetinyfig@hotmail.com

Out with the old and in with the new!

The new website is live just in time for the new year! Yay!

Over the past 6 weeks or so I have worked very hard to create a brand new website. While the old one did it's job there were a lot of issues that I wasn't happy with because I was in a hurry to get it done and rushed through the process. Now that I've taken the time to consider what went wrong the first time, I'm very happy to say that the new one is 10x better than it was before! I have switched from Mals E-cart to Paypal Cart and can finally stop worrying about selling inventory I don't have!

I've uploaded a few screen shots of the new website highlighting all the changes and updates. You'll notice that there is a brand new Printables section that I plan to fill up starting in the new year. You can click to zoom and see all the new and updated features.

I hope you stop by and browse around! I'd love to get your feedback!

Website Update

The website is coming along nicely at this point. I know I haven't been updating the blog much lately but that is because I haven't been feeling 100% and because I've been busy busy with all the projects I am working on for early 2010.  The website should be up and running *fingers crossed* next week. There were a lot of things I wish I did the first time around that I skipped because I was in a such a rush to have it completed. Well, that wont happen this time because over the past 8 months I have taken lots of notes and have very patiently over the last few weeks been upgrading and implementing those things into the new site. Anyways, the point of this post is because I wanted to share with you the new "In Action" page which is basically a fan photo page. If you've got any photos that you haven't sent me yet and don't mind being include please email them to me at thetinyfig@hotmail.com

Shop The Tiny Fig in CAD and EUROS!

I have been working for the last 2 weeks revamping the site and I am so close to where I want everything to be! I just have to make a few more minor adjustments and hopefully I will be satisfied enough to leave everything alone for a while.

You can now shop in Canadian dollars and Euros! It took me FOREVER to get the currencies added to all the items because I was sick for a week and could hardly get out of bed! I'm really glad I did it. I think it makes the shop more international friendly :)

I have resized ALL the images on the front page and category pages! Seriously, this was a pain!!! but I think the images were way too big before and everything looks cleaner now! Don't you agree?

I've also made a few other changes: I have changed the "new arrivals" link in the left sidebar to "apparel" for when I am ready to list my new tshirts, I have removed all the pages from the categories so now you can "view all" or sort by items (coasters, magnets, etc...) and like I mentioned before I have re-sized all the images on the category pages. I actually still need to randomize the images on some of the "view all" pages but that will be left for a rainy day.

I also spent a lot of time tweaking the shopping cart's features and functions so that customers have an easy time checking out and I get the info that I need. I use Mals E-cart and for some reason every now and then someone will check out and not pay immediately. When they don't pay immediately they can't go back and find the invoice to pay later. What makes it worse is that I don't get an email saying that someone has ordered unless they pay. (Basically, if I don't log into my account I never even knew about this transaction! STUPID RIGHT?). This kind of annoys me so I made a banner and wrote a little blurb explaining it. I tried to type it out incase the banner didn't load for some people but the cart would only let me type 250 characters so I added a link for payment, shipping and return info instead. Would you do me a favor and read my blurb it to see if I made my point clear? Thanks!

I'm so glad that I am almost done everything on my list! I have a few more small details I want to fix such as adding a "go back" or "return" to category page on individual item pages underneath the cart buttons, I want to finish creating pages for the items I don't have listed yet, and I want to figure out how to create dropdown lists so that people can select sizes or length options when they check out!

Gosh, this is a really long post and it took me almost an hour to write it..... I'd love your feedback if you have any :) Thanks for reading!

My site is back up!

I haven't fixed anything yet... I just got tired of staring at the Etsy mini every morning. I decided that I'm going to get rid of the pages and sort the items by collection (bread buddies, cupcakes, birds, forest friends, imaginary friends, weather, etc...) and by style. I updated the inventory so feel free to shop! Don't forget that all stickers and paper magnets are on sale in both my Etsy and Website! The prices have been marked down already!

TheTinyFig.com

A while ago I bought a domain from GoDaddy.com and yesterday I finally got around to building a website with the websitetonight tool. It was frustrating.. really really frustrating trying to customize the thing but I finally figured it out and it's good for a temporary site until I decide to build a better site and purchase webhosting. So check it out and let me know what you think! http://thetinyfig.com/
